What is Kati Basti in Ayurveda?
Kati Basti is a traditional Ayurvedic therapy that uses warm herbal oil applied to the lower back within a soft ring made from flour dough. The oil is gently warmed and allowed to rest on the area for a period of time, creating a deeply soothing and grounding experience.
How does Kati Basti work?
During the session, the warm herbal oil is carefully poured into a specially formed frame ring prepared from black gram flour and maintained at a comfortable temperature. The gentle warmth allows the body to soften and relax while supporting a feeling of ease and lightness in the back.
In Ayurvedic philosophy, this practice is believed to help restore balance to the body’s energy flow and promote comfort, flexibility, and relaxation.
